Board Meeting Minutes February 8, 2010

Chair Tom Triplett called meeting to order.

1. Amendments to the agenda:
none.

2. Approval of minutes from January 11 meeting
Mike White moved to accept minutes from January 11 meeting as presented, second by Michele McNulty. Motion passed.

3. Welcome to new members!
Chair Triplett welcomed new members: Julie White and Sally Swanson. Erica Hoffman would like to join as a new member.

4. Action items
Election of other new directors for 2010
Chair Triplett moved to add Erica Hoffman to the Board, Rich Burton second. Motion passed.

Other followup from 2010 Annual Meeting
Chair Triplett reported on the meeting; about 30 members attend. Karen Schik summarized the results of the 65 persons who responded to our citizen survey; the need for trails of all types was the most concern of residents. The discussion of the Gateway Trail expansion by the panel at the meeting generated significant membership interest. All current members of the board of directors were re-elected.

Election of officers for 2010
Tabled until the March 8th meeting with the idea of having all board members attend and vote.

Resolution re Gateway Trail expansion
Judy Rydeen moved to accept resolution, second by Mike White. After some discussion motion passed. Sally Swanson will forward to Scandia Park and Recreation to review.

Dues for members
Annual dues are $20.00 per year. Rich Burton reported we have about 120 members and only 60 have paid. Discussion rose on how to remind members to pay. Rich Burton and Michele McNulty will work together on this. Discussed the possibility of fund raising at Mid Summer to include Ann Bancroft as a summer solstice.

Relationship with the PRC
Improve our working relationship with the PRC

Reports from Vinterfest
Sally Swanson reported thirteen teams entered the Ice Sculpting contest; skaters were on the rink, and golf. Bake sale by the FL soccer team. Lions provided food.

Other trails
Discussion arose about signage, pit stops, Rich Burton will spearhead.

Lions Park
Hay Lake Community Park: Judy Rydeen will get in contact with Brent Peterson from the Historical Society to work with us on improvements needed and invite him to an upcoming meeting.

6. Meeting schedule
Next meeting scheduled March 8 at 7pm
Future meetings will be on the 2d Monday at 7pm at the Community Center.
